Comments on: Chiropractic Commercial Featuring Jerry Rice, Guest Starring an Upper Cervical Chiropractor

Just had this conversation with a couple of chiropractors on Facebook. They were offended when an upper cervical doctor described what he did and did not do for patients, by way of the adjustment.

These chiropractors took offense at his description that his procedure was not what most people are familiar with in the way of a “rotary break”. I tried to explain, it was not a personal attack against them, but I might as well have been talking to the wall.

And I have even run across the comment of “Oh ya, I do upper cervical too” on various websites where upper cervical is touted. Without any formal distinction in the upper cervical arena we will always have those who want to associate themselves with the results of upper cervical care without actually “doing” the work.

Regardless, the exposure is good for all of chiropractic. With diligence, upper cervical chiropractic care will continue to grow and distinguish itself as a specialty within the profession. A compliment to, not a detraction from, the efforts of all chiropractors.

That is a well done commercial. I have seen chiropractic commercials in the past and thought they were poorly done, but this one is worth watching!

Good work on the blog Brandon. Also, I find it interesting how the rack and crack part of the profession is always quick to jump on the UC bandwagon. Whether through the BP study, all of Dr. Kerr’s recent media attention, and now this. It’s only a matter of time I think before the public starts asking for this stuff in droves, and what are the schools going to say when “We don’t offer this” isn’t enough?
