I saw this video on Youtube recently and was deeply saddened by what this child went through. Take a look for yourself, then continue reading. If the video doesn’t pull up, you can view it here.
What sickens me is the blatant rush to surgery whenever anything goes wrong in this country. All this child needed was Specific Upper Cervical Chiropractic care and he would have slept. That’s it. A simple, yet specific atlas adjustment and this child’s life could have been saved.
Instead, his parents, probably tired beyond belief and willing to do anything, jumped to a surgery that gave their child a 50% chance of dying. How can you blame the doctors for recommending it? They wanted to help this poor family and deadly surgery was the only option they could think of.
It is Our Fault For Letting it Get That Far
We have to do a better job as Upper Cervical Chiropractors and students of getting the word out about what we do. I’ll be the first to admit I can do better. If we don’t, kids like this will be offered no other alternative but life-altering surgery. People need to know that what we do is more than worker’s comp and personal injury. They have to know that we remove nerve interference so that innate intelligence can take over and heal the body. They have to know that ultrasound, muscle stim, and laser are NOT chiropractic. They have to know how important having the atlas aligned is, that it can have damaging effects on the brain stem if left unchecked.
Not only do people have to know, they deserve to know.

My jaw literally dropped when they showed how much they removed.
Thanks for posting this. It’s true…we all (Chiropractors, patients and believers) HAVE to speak up when we hear people talking about anything (especially with children). Colds, ear infections, vaccines, surgeries, sleep problems, fevers…you name it. What are you afraid of? Saving someone’s life?
