I would like more info on this. I was involved in a head on in 2002 and was treated for 1 month and told my neck was fine. I was denied work comp because the md said I had DJD and arthritis. Now in Nov 2008 I was driving back from Lewiston ID for my employer as I drive for a large grocery chain (Albertsons) I had turned my head to the left to view my mirrior and my neck popped causing severe pain in the upper neck, followed by blurd vision with dizziness. Now again work comp dr said not work related. I am seeing a chiro now he is a upper neck spec and he does feel that this work related and from bouncing in truck for 8-10 a day. My neck was off 10 degree to the right and now only 3 degree. Please help you may contact me at 503-984-0381 thank you. roger

what a great article.
myself, i am in dire straits in the nashville, tn area. i was about 117lbs and healthy last year, i'm 5 ft. tall. i had a neck strain after pulling a 5 gallon bucket of apples up our steep backyard hill.
when i put the bucket down, i could tell i strained myself, but nothing could have prepared me for what was to come within just a few days. my ears blocked, couldn't breath as well, then swallowing problems began, etc.
i lost 45 pounds in 5 months, got severely malnourished and down to 73 pounds. i have visited an upper cervical chiropractor and he took xrays and has wanted to adjust the atlas and i have been hesitant. but now my health has taken such a downturn, even an auto-immune problem appears to be rising in me with inflammation. i'm worried i am too late for spinal adjustments, especailly cervical. it's been there a year now.
this has gotten so serious. my ears and throat have been the main problem, but pain and tension and weakness is everywhere now. i grew emotionally unstable after all the insomnia, etc., and have been on medication for a mental illness, all because of a neck strain.
my question is - am i too late? i am so weak now, so am i too late to let them try to adjust what i've been told now is severely misaligned atlas and cervical spine, with rotation of vertebraes all the way down into the thoracic and lumbar areas. and can a regular chiropractor adjust my atlas as well as a UC specialist can. we have one nucca Dr. here in nashille with a special adjusting machine, but it's somewhat of a drive and i was concerned about it, since there's so many more drs. of chiropractor with practices here close by. I truly need help and must get my life back on target for health. insomnia is horrible, fall asleep but immediately jerk awake, it may be the psych meds they put me on, as the med doctors for so long didn't believe there was an injury. they couldn't see it on x-rays.
but ear muffling and fluids and swallowing problems are terrible, and i need to eat - losing weight again and need help fast. at about 88 pounds now. i've got to trust someone somewhere. got to get healthy again somehow.

This is my favorite post so far! I love how fiery Drew Hall is! He is so passionate and isn't afraid to say exactly what is on his mind. He tells it like it is w/o caring what others think! Such an example to me! I need to do more of that. I say these things to Brandon, but not to others. Keep it up Dr. Hall! If we don't have chiropractors like you, then what chiropractic truly is will get completely lost.
