I was forwarded an email last week that was originally written by Bill Barretta from Storyville Studios (of The Power of Upper Cervical fame). It came with a suggestion to post it here on The Atlas of Life for everyone to read. I thought this was a good idea as well.
Here are the important parts:
“I decided to respond to this e-mail by going to http://www.HealthReform.gov at the bottom of this note from the President.
Once at their site I clicked on Contact Us where you can write something to them. I don’t often do this but I thought it wouldn’t hurt and hopefully someone will listen. With your help they will.
They are asking if we believe there is a problem with our health care system. My letter responds, “There are obviously problems with our health care system, the question should be “‘How can it be helped?’”
Before going on about Upper Cervical Care and all of its amazing stories and effects, I first said that even though we have some of the greatest Doctors, procedures and medications in the world, the “majority” of the ailments that are being treated by our current health care professionals are merely temporary fixes or band aids. They are treating the symptoms and not the cause.
If you want real health care reform and you want to reduce the costs for the average American citizen, then they must find a better solution for “preventative” care.
Thus, my in depth explanation of Upper Cervical Care then followed. I include brief thoughts about Symptoms that respond, scientific reaearch, high blood pressure, the real deal, etc.
I’m writing because Cristina suggested that we really have an opportunity to flood this White House website through the Contact Us section with “UPPER CERVICAL!”
Even if they don’t read each and every note, they should see the words “UPPER CERVICAL” over and over again. Someone will begin to ask more questions and so on and so on. You get the idea.
Please send this to as many doctors, advocates, patients or anyone who’s friend or loved one has been helped by Upper Cervical and ask them to write in, even if they just put the words “UPPER CERVICAL CARE” in the box. This is a very simple way to create exposure and interest to the White House.
I know this may feel like a long shot and hard to imagine that we could get through this way, but nothing is impossible…”
As alluded to in Bill Barretta’s email, below is the copy of the message sent out by the White House regarding opinions on health care reform.
“Good afternoon,
You are receiving this email because you signed up at WhiteHouse.gov. My staff and I plan to use these messages as a way to directly communicate about important issues and opportunities, and today I have some encouraging updates about health care reform.
The Vice President and I just met with leaders from the House of Representatives and received their commitment to pass a comprehensive health care reform bill by July 31.
We also have an unprecedented commitment from health care industry leaders, many of whom opposed health reform in the past. Monday, I met with some of these health care stakeholders, and they pledged to do their part to reduce the health care spending growth rate, saving more than two trillion dollars over the next ten years — around $2,500 for each American family. Then on Tuesday, leaders from some of America ‘s top companies came to the White House to showcase innovative ways to reduce health care costs by improving the health of their workers.
Now the House and Senate are beginning a critical debate that will determine the health of our nation’s economy and its families. This process should be transparent and inclusive and its product must drive down costs, assure quality and affordable health care for everyone, and guarantee all of us a choice of doctors and plans.
Reforming health care should also involve you. Think of other people who may want to stay up to date on health care reform and other national issues and tell them to join us here:
http://www.whitehouse.gov/EmailUpdates
Health care reform can’t come soon enough. We spend more on health care than any country, but families continue to struggle with skyrocketing premiums and nearly 46 million are without insurance entirely. It is a priority for the American people and a pillar of the new foundation we are seeking to build for our economy.
We’ll continue to keep you posted about this and other important issues.
Thank you,
Barack Obama
P.S. If you’d like to get more in-depth information about health reform and how you can participate, be sure to visit http://www.HealthReform.gov.”
There you have it. We have a chance to bring Upper Cervical Chiropractic to the doorstep of the White House.

I found your site on Google and read a few of your other entires. Nice Stuff. I’m looking forward to reading more from you.
Very interesting and thought provoking post. It’ll take all of a few minutes to write, so why not? We can’t sit here and complain. Instead we should be looking in the mirror and asking what are we doing to let ppl know they have other choices? What are we doing to make changes? What are we doing to educate.
That is why I started blogging about unassisted birth. Not because I want everyone to do it, but to say, “Hey, there are choices! Educate yourself!” Staying quiet isn’t helping anyone and it just made me miserable.
I hope more chiros and students alike take more action after reading this post. I know I will. I might just send an email titled “UPPER CERVICAL” to the White House today!
I just submitted my thoughts on Upper Cervical care at healthreform.gov. Here’s what I wrote:
Upper Cervical is a specialized form of chiropractic that focuses on the top two bones in the neck called the Atlas and Axis. It is very gentle, very specific, and it is painless.
The goal if Upper Cervical care is to re-align the body as a whole. By using the Atlas as a lever to move the entire spine, the patient then has the opportunity be balanced, therefore relieving any detrimental imbalance causing significant pain and discomfort.
Also of great importance is the brain stem, which is the top of the spinal cord, and is encased by the Atlas. The Atlas is the only vertebra that the spinal cord attaches to. When there is a misalignment of the Atlas, that can have a detrimental effect on vital organ function i.e. blood pressure, respiration, etc.
In 2007, a study was published showing that Upper Cervical care can reduce blood pressure by 14 points over an 8 week span, which is the equivalent of taking 2 blood pressure medications simultaneously.
Think of the health care cost this country could cut down on if everyone with high blood pressure was under upper cervical care.
Thousands of patients around the country are experiencing life-changing results as Upper Cervical patients. Not only that, but they are saving on the bottom line by cutting back on their medications, hospital visits, and surgeries.
If you are truly serious about health care reform, please consider Upper Cervical care in your plans. It gets results and it will save this country, potentially, billions in the long run.
Thank you for your time.
Respectfully,
Brandon Harshe
