If you go to my home page and look up at the very top of your screen, in the title bar of your web browser, you will see that this site is titled The Atlas of Life – Upper Cervical Chiropractic Central.
It is not titled The Atlas of Life – Any and All Chiropractic Central.
(Update – April 24, 2010: The name of the this site has been changed to The Atlas of Life – A Blog About the Science, Philosophy, and Art of Chiropractic. That still doesn’t mean “Any and All Chiropractic Central.” Just wanted to be clear.)
I’ve been getting comments from various people worried or critical that I’m not spreading a message of unity within chiropractic. A lot of this concern probably has to do with the chiropractic profession’s role in nationalized healthcare.
Everyone wants everyone to be united within chiropractic, and I understand that. But like I said before, when the ACA defines chiropractors and chiropractic as physical therapists and physical therapy, I do not agree with that.
If that makes me too idealistic, as I have been told, so be it.
I have thrown my hat in with the Upper Cervical Chiropractors of the world. I will even throw my hat in with full-spine straight chiropractors because they stay true to the chiropractic principle. I know, and these chiropractors know, that a specific chiropractic adjustment is the most powerful way of helping someone discover or re-discover their innate potential, hands down.
When I think about what kind of chiropractor I want to see, I want to see the one that gets the absolute best results. I want to see someone who hits home runs every time, not just singles, doubles, and maybe triples. Someone who gets the best results in the least amount of time.
The only chiropractors that can say that on a regular basis are the Upper Cervical Chiropractors. In talking with many of these chiropractors, I have heard stories of people holding their first atlas adjustment anywhere from three months to 26 years in one case!
In talking with Upper Cervical patients, I learned how many of these people suffered through numerous health care providers, including other chiropractors with little or no results. All that was needed was a specific upper cervical adjustment, just one, and their lives were changed. Just look at James and Rhonda Tomasi!
Yes, all of chiropractic has its place. I’m just not sure some of it belongs in chiropractic. At least not the ACA’s version. But that aside, I know many, many other chiropractors doing great things. I don’t want to discount what the good ones are doing.
All I am saying is that I have chosen to be a part of a group of chiropractors that get the absolute best results time after time.
Upper Cervical is what I am passionate about and that is pretty much all you will see on this blog.
