My first interaction with Dennis Sanders was on Twitter a couple of weeks ago. He mentioned to me in a direct message that upper cervical eliminated his migraines. I decided to interview him so people know they have options to drugs and surgery, especially for something that can be helped in such a simple manner.
I appreciate Dennis taking time out of his schedule to answer some questions for The Atlas of Life.
Brandon: Tell us about when your migraine headaches started.
Dennis: “I have had chronic, almost every day, headaches ever since I can remember, probably around 7 years old, not sure if these were migraines, I would take Excedrin to control the pain. They became much worse when I was in my early 30’s and the pain could not be controlled with Excedrin or anything else doctors prescribed.”
Brandon: How did the migraines affect your quality of life?
Dennis: “They ruined my life. I had a very good future as an engineer, but I had to go on disability because I could not work. I became a prescription drug addict and spent every cent on drugs. I had to move back in with my parents.”
Brandon: What methods (conventional or non-conventional) did you try in order to alleviate your headaches?
Dennis: “I tried many different conventional doctors, many neurologists, and went through lots of tests including CAT scans and MRIs. I tried many types of alternative treatments including 4 Chiropractors, massage therapy, 2 acupuncturists, a Chinese herbologist, a homoeopath, and many others.”
Brandon: How did you find out about Upper Cervical Chiropractic?
Dennis: “My older brother, John, recommended upper cervical. He had fallen down a flight of stairs backwards and hurt his back to the point where he was on permanent disability and taking lots of pain killers. He even had back surgery which did not help. John’s wife had severe back problems also and was going to have surgery and upper cervical had cured both of them. It has also significantly helped one of my younger sisters and John’s neighbor who had severe back problems.
My wife is also undergoing treatment, she has degenerative disc problems and it has helped her significantly.
We have moved to San Diego and unfortunately there are no upper cervical doctors here so we drive to Carson, about 115 miles, every 3 weeks to get corrections.”
Brandon: What was your experience like when you received your first upper cervical adjustment?
Dennis: “My first correction did not help me at all, it took about 3 to 4 months of weekly treatments for me to get relief.”
Brandon: How long was it before you realized a significant change in your migraines?
Dennis: “After 3 to 4 months my migraines were gone but I do have to get corrections on a regular basis or they come back.”
Brandon: What would you say to people searching for something to alleviate their migraines on the internet?
Dennis: “I tell everyone I know that has back problems or headaches about upper cervical. It is so effective it is like a miracle. I can’t understand why upper cervical has not received huge amounts of press and is not all over the news. It is really sad because so many people could be helped.”
