Little did I know on January 24th at around 3:30am, after 5 straight hours of designing this site, that my inaugural post would launch me into a role I hardly expected. Six months later, I am still amazed at the impact this site has actually had on people… doctors, students, and patients alike.
My initial goals for this site were as follows:
1.) Get up to 1,000 visitors a month by December 2009.
2.) Get the word out about upper cervical on the web.
Needless to say, I have been getting the word out about upper cervical. Between this site, Facebook, Twitter, and Ezine Articles, people are starting to notice what I’m doing.
Back in March, Paul Hambrick interviewed me. That was an honor because of the quality of people he has interviewed… Daniel Clark, Kirk Erikson, Tom Forest, B.J. Kale, Shawn Dill, Darren White, Rob Kessinger, and Stan Pierce Jr. to name a few.
Three weeks ago, I was interviewed by a writer for Chiropractic Economics for an upcoming article about chiropractic and blogging/social media.
I NEVER expected all this, nor did I strive for all this. My goal was to let people know about upper cervical and the amazing results it gets.
Nor do I say all this to shout “Hey look at me!” I’m saying all this because I am grateful for all the support people have given me and this site, as well as the doors it has opened for me.
At times it has felt like too many doors, as I have been trying to decipher which path to take after graduation. Not a bad problem to have, right?
For the sake of keeping it real here at The Atlas of Life, I am going to post some site statistics from Google Analytics so people have a realistic idea of how this blog is doing. I don’t want people to think I’m blowing smoke up you know where. Statistics are taken from 1/24/2009 to 7/22/2009.

Overall visits- 11,052
Monthly Average- 1,842
Unique visitors- 7,140
Monthly average- 1,190
Overall pageviews- 21,900
Monthly average- 3,650
Pages per visit- 1.98
Average time on site- 00:02:36
New visits- 64.59 %
Search Engine Traffic- 5,022 (45.44 %)
Referring Sites- 3,616 (32.72 %)
Direct Traffic- 2,414 (21.84 %)
So I shattered my goal of 1,000 visitors by December, as this site gets almost 1,200 unique visitors per month. Additionally, this blog generates over 1,800 total views each month. People view two pages each time they come to my site and spend about two and a half minutes here. Almost two thirds of my visitors have been first time visitors. The majority of my traffic comes from search engines, meaning they Google certain keywords and come across my site.
Thank you to everyone who reads this site regularly. I truly appreciate it!
I will leave you with the top ten most viewed articles on The Atlas of Life up to this point.
