What do many of the individuals interviewed on The Atlas of Life envision for the future of Upper Cervical? Let’s find out.
Dr. Moses Bernard – “I was recently talking to a fellow student, and here in Dallas there are mega-hospitals and health centers EVERYWHERE. It sickens me that the largest buildings in this city (and most North American cities) are hospitals.
I see a future where UC care is not only accessible, but it is also the number one choice. I want everyone on the planet’s first thought when they get even the most minor ache or pain to be “I need to get my atlas checked”.
I want UC doctors to become the most respected profession on the planet, as there is no health care procedure on the planet more valuable. If neurosurgeons had access to this procedure, they’d charge $20,000 a treatment!
I agree with Dr. Drury and would like to see the ‘brand’ of UCHC a national icon. I’d like to see UC taught as the primary technique in every school. I see UC doctors through a united purpose, changing the world by making them realize health comes from Innate and within.
It seems to me that the upper cervical world has done more to promote chiropractic in the last 3 years, than the cumulative effort of the entire full spine profession has in 100 years. We are literally on the cusp of blowing up, and as it stands right now, schools will be EMBARASSED that they have nothing to offer when the consumer demand presents itself. I truly believe that within very few years, no UC doc on the planet will be able to keep up with demand.”
Dr. Lauren Clum – “To me, chiropractic IS upper cervical. So my vision for chiropractic is that it will become a household name associated with true health, that people will know that if they really want to get well, that they’ll have to get their nervous system back on track with the help of a chiropractor. And that kids will grow up with chiropractic care, and that they won’t know the craziness of things that currently plague our youth.”
Dr. Jon Schwartzbauer – “I would love to see at least one upper cervical chiropractor in every town with a population more than 5,000 people.”
Dr. Adam Tanase – “Tell someone you’ve never been to the dentist and watch the expression they give you. That’s what I want for our profession…
I want the reach of Upper Cervical to be so vast that getting checked for subluxation is just as common as getting checked for cavities. I want it to permeate society so deeply that when a teenager tells his friends, “I’ve never been to a chiropractor,” they just point at him and laugh!
I want a television show specifically about Chiropractic, as popular as ER, House, and Grey’s Anatomy.
I want to buy a movie ticket for a film about the life of BJ Palmer, and I want to see all the stores sold out of the DVD at Christmas time. I want an Upper Cervical Chiropractor on staff at the White House… That’s my vision.”
Rhonda Tomasi – “Our vision is for Upper Cervical science to become a recognized health option available to every household. We want the general public to understand an atlas subluxation causes problems in babies and children’s’ health as well as adults.
We want to see:
1.) Research centers producing publishable research data.
2.) Scholarship programs for students of Upper Cervical Chiropractic.
3.) Grants to offset the cost of Upper Cervical Care for jobless people.
4.) A House of Hope for people to stay in when they travel long distances for care.
5.) An assessment establishing qualification requirements for all UC DC techniques so patients know the level of experience a UC DC has.
6.) Upper Cervical Chiropractic degrees made available to graduating students.
7.) Internship programs readily available within successful offices.
8.) Training under master level UC DC’s or in research facilities.
9.) Missionary UC DC’s set-up in foreign countries.
10.) UC DC’s on staff in hospitals, public schools, sports teams, Hospice groups, prisons, jails and insane asylums.
11.) Chiropractors to embrace UC as a specialty and either learn it or refer to a Master UC DC.
12.) Medical professionals to refer to UC DCs.
13.) Upper Cervical preeminence in all sphere’s of authority:
a.) Education – college and public.
b.) Media – News reports, articles, publications, etc.
c.) Sports & Entertainment: Honest representation in movies, TV shows, and from recognized entertainment and sports personalities.
d.) Business/Finance – funding for programs and office establishment; research centers and submission.
e.) Government/Law – changes in laws governing UC Chiropractic, recognition of health advantages, influence in key positions.
f.) Technology – Advances in instrumentation, research tools, Digital analysis availability, as well as research coalitions among techniques.
g.) Religion/Family – recognition of UC Care as the first health care option for families, religious, and civic structure members.”
Dr. Tony Palermo – “Upper Cervical Care IS the future of Chiropractic. I know that’s a bold statement.
I’m also the guy that warned the profession 15 years ago that the days of insurance reimbursement were coming to an end. I nailed that one huh?
I’m also the guy that coached doctors for years to reduce their overhead and “Get Back to Basics” (the name of my coaching company!). I nailed that one too.
In 1995 I coached doctors on a simple plan to eliminate any/all credit debt so that they could begin practicing AND living in a “cash only” world. Given our current economic experience – that one was right on the mark.
I warned doctors about the importance of creating a wellness oriented family practice vs. getting into the pain/accident/relief model of practice.
I could literally list seven more “nailed that one” examples for you.
The bottom line is this – I have been blessed with a gift of spotting and responding to trends in both health care as well as business.
Practices built upon sound Upper Cervical protocols and rock solid business systems are booming right now. As more doctors study and master the science, philosophy and art of UC care – we can and will change the health of our world.
I personally invite doctors to reach out and connect with me. I’m here to serve and assist them as they draw forth and express their own brand of chiropractic greatness.
Email me – I’d love to hear from you!
Scott Livingston – “First, there is something that keeps coming to my mind and in a jovial manner I mention to others, but I’m quite serious about this idea. It’s the opening of a 24/7 Upper Cervical Clinic.
As we know, there are those patients in the beginning stages of care who realize the moment they lose their adjustment (not all realize it) and when they do, their life in some cases comes to pause – the symptoms can be that severe, as we know.
I would like to see a clinic like this open in every major city and I know some docs are looking at it right now. As a matter of fact, I believe Dr. Edward Weller, D.C. is in the process of doing such a thing in St. Louis, MO.
Second, I want all chiropractic schools to recognize the need and soon to be outcry by the general population for true, specific chiropractic. Once the message gets out, is made clear and folks are seeing results in their health and the health of others, nobody will be able to stop it.
Some schools are doing a great job, though they can all do better – Palmer, Sherman, and Life are those that I have seen making great strides in recent years. Some schools are shunning upper cervical, which I think will come back to bite ‘em.
Brandon, to help alleviate possible misunderstanding for your readers…. As you know, I’m very pro-chiropractic, though I have a differing opinion than most about what chiropractic is. I myself have had the therapies and other modalities that occupy most clinics and I have benefited tremendously in some instances. I actually prefer not only upper cervical specific, but also very conservative and specific full-spine work (no hip rolls please) when I need it and only when I need it. And I’m sure that’s the type of chiropractor I will be one day.
I heard not to long ago and I don’t know to whom the credit should go, but I agree with the statement…. “Having a chiropractic appointment is not the determining factor for getting an adjustment!” Now that’s a new way of looking at Chiropractic!”
Dr. Mike Thompson – “I believe Dr. Ray and Dr. Thad with UCHCA have begun to pave the way for all of us. Unity is the answer. Recognition by the public is key. My personal vision aligns with theirs. Upper cervical doctors all over the world. Wouldn’t that be amazing ?! I want to have a part in that. I would love to eventually empower young doctors to carry through with what they have been called to do.
Upper cervical work is a ‘calling’. The Tomasi’s have it right. All we need to do is have a CRYSTAL CLEAR vision of that and it has to happen. It’s a Universal Law, right? As we thinketh, so are we.
The future of upper cervical is ready to explode. There will be obstacles by those that oppose… but when you’re dealing with TRUTH as we are… we have already won, we just have to claim it!!
Our work is cut out for us.”
Dr. Autumn Monteiro – “My vision? It’s HUGE!
It all needs to start in our schools. Unfortunately, I attended a school that does not support upper cervical. We were the small group of rebels on campus, always stirring the pot.
We need our very own Upper Cervical College where students can learn from the best of the best and not have to waste time learning how to do a lumbar roll.
Upper cervical care will become the first line of defense in everyone’s health care plan. The question that we hear everyday will not be “What is that you do?” it will be “When can I come see you?” because THEY WILL ALL KNOW!”
Dr. Nathan Berbereia – “My vision would be for Upper Cervical to be a household name. That everyone understands the importance of being checked for subluxations by an Upper Cervical Doctor. That people would not so eagerly run to their “Doctors” for drugs and surgery, but would first see their Upper Cervical Doctor to remove nerve interference at the brain stem level to allow their body to heal itself as it is designed to do. “
Dr. Opal Garman – “My vision is one of UNITY, where all Upper Cervical Doctors unite to bring Upper Cervical to the world. No matter what Upper Cervical discipline each doctor may practice, my vision is that we work together to help our patients achieve health.
This unity will help the world know the POWER OF UPPER CERVICAL!”
