In his weekly email, Dr. Tom Forest attached a newspaper clipping from the Independent Mail in Anderson, South Carolina, sent to him by Dr. Kevin Broome.

This clipping is a Q & A with an MD by the name of Dr. Peter Gott, and his response to one readers question about upper cervical was surprising to say the least. Here it is in its entirety.
Dear Dr. Gott: I read with interest and sympathy the letter in your column from a woman suffering with fibromyalgia. I, too, suffered for years until I went to an upper-cervical chiropractor for treatment. I haven’t had any pain for several years.
Dear Reader: The head weighs between eight and 14 pounds. It must remain in perfect alignment in order to prevent interference in every brain-to-body function. Misalignment can result from automobile accidents, poor posture, falls and countless other causes. When the head becomes misaligned, it reacts adversely with pain and poor health. This is where upper-cervical chiropractic intervention comes into play. There is no forceful twisting or pulling of the neck. Muscles relax, blood circulation increases, and healing begins.
I couldn’t have said it any better myself. Awesome!

This doc gets it more so than many Chiropractors I know.
Awesome post. This doc gave us the simple and straight forward reason why upper cervical care is important and that everyone should at least know what it is and where to get it!
That’s awesome!!
However the skeptic inside me says that he did a quick search and copy/pasted that from somewhere. I certainly hope not, but that’s my gut reaction. Still a great explanation and great exposure regardless.
I agree with Dr. Kuhn. This feels off. Regardless, MD’s just do not refer to chiro’s (for the most part). The ones that chanced such a public relationship would get scorned by their peers.
Where can I get this article, since I cant enlarge it. Good to see that. The more we see stuff like that with other health care providers the more Chiropractic will be mainstream.

Wow. Great find! Fibromyalgia patients need to know (like a lot of other kinds of patients) that if they haven’t improved from other kinds of chiropractic adjusting, that a specific upper cervical protocol can still help. Especially since our adjustment is so light, and non-invasive.
