I don’t know why it took me so long to set up a Twitter account for my blog, but I finally did it. I will still use my drbharshe account quite a bit, but I thought The Atlas of Life needed its own as well.
Look up TheAtlasofLife on Twitter and give it a quick follow.
Also, feel free to mention TheAtlasofLife this coming #FollowFriday.
Speaking of Twitter, I thought I would post a little excerpt from my e-book Done By Hand: The Blueprint to Chiropractic Blogging Success that covers one aspect of Twitter use. Enjoy!
“A great way to increase your following is to post a lot of useful links. This is the “Guy Kawasaki” method. Guy Kawasaki is a venture capitalist in California, as well as a bestselling author of such books like The Art of the Start, one of my personal favorite business books. On Twitter, he is a posting machine. I have literally had every status update on my home page filled up by “tweets” from Guy Kawasaki.
You definitely want to promote your own blog, but you want to post articles and links to other blogs even more. This is what Guy Kawasaki does. A good rule of thumb is anywhere from 10:1 to 15:1 ratios of other articles to your articles. People will notice you posting useful and interesting content, and they will be more apt to read what you link to. Twitter, and all social media sites are just like the real world: you have to build relationships. To do that, you have to build trust first. People will trust you when you show that you are interested in getting good information to them, not just your information.”
