#UpperCervical and #Chiropractic: Creating New Trends on Twitter

by Brandon Harshe, DC on March 12, 2010

Twitter, The Atlas of Life, upper cervical chiropractic

For you chiropractors on Twitter, either upper cervical or full spine, I wanted to put out the word about starting a new trend on Twitter.

When on Twitter, I’m sure you have all noticed the top 10 trends of the day in the right sidebar. This means is that these terms are being used in “tweets” by hundreds and thousands of people that day.

It is also a way to get noticed by more people on Twitter. The thinking is that people will click on these trends and see your tweet with that particular keyword. the more times you use a trend, the more people will see them. The more people that see them, the greater the chance your following will increase.

However, for it to be recognized by Twitter, you have to use hash marks. For example, using the keyword chiropractic is not enough. You have to type it as #chiropractic. If you participate in #FollowFriday, then you are already aware of using the hash marks.

So I wanted to spread the word out about using #uppercervical and/or #chiropractic in all your tweets. I, for one, will make sure they are a part of all my blog post tweets.

I’m not sure #uppercervical or #chiropractic will ever make it into the top 10 trends of the day, but why not try?
