Low Back Pain and Shoulder Pain Relief from… Upper Cervical Chiropractic?

by Brandon Harshe, DC on March 15, 2010

I found these videos of Dr. Charlie Oliver of San Antonio, TX adjusting two of his patients: one with left shoulder pain and one with low back pain.

I have driven the point home that chiropractors are not pain doctors. But these videos depict how you can remove the nervous system interference at the top of the spine and see immediate results elsewhere in the body. Enjoy!

I love how the lady looks ticked off and like she is going to take the doc out! lol. After her adjustment though, she is smiling. Still feisty, but smiling! :)

I am glad you liked the videos. I am sure you see changes like this every day in your practice. As a clinician who was a physical therapist before becoming a chiropractor I can tell you that I never thought I could help someone with low back or shoulder pain by adjusting the atlas…but just look! That is the power of the nervous system. And the great thing is that it gave us a visual indicator (increased range of motion) of its effect. Just think what it did for the patients’ respiratory, digestive, circulatory and endocrine systems? In other words, the adjustments’ effects were not limited to the back and shoulder!
