Runners participating in this fall’s Chicago Half Marathon September 12th or Bank of America Chicago Marathon October 10th now have the opportunity to help raise funds to build an NPCO green clinic.
Calling themselves the Sustainable NPCO Runners , this unique group of engineers, architects and supporters of chiropractic are all working together to develop, raise funds and ultimately build a self-sustainable “green” chiropractic clinic in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic for Non-Profit Chiropractic Organization.
“The idea of providing chiropractic health care through a self-sustaining, environmentally friendly ‘green’ clinic to impoverished communities is not only a very possible goal to achieve with today’s technology, but in these communities, a necessity because of the constant power outages and lack of clean water. It is extremely important that we are able to have a clinic which is self-sustaining and has a reliable source of energy and clean water that will enable us to provide the best health care possible. Through these projects we can also provide education on how local residents can improve their own environments. This way we are providing a full circle of health in their body and their communities,” explained NPCO President Joshua Heines.
Team NPCO members running in support of this project will assist in raising money, reaching out to green, eco-friendly related corporations, acquiring donated green equipment and ultimately work abroad to develop the clinic.
