I don’t know if most people know this, but garlic doesn’t only taste rockin’ awesome cooked up in dishes, but it also has amazing healing properties! What a win-win! You can read in many places, like here, that garlic is considered a “natural antibiotic.”
So, if you want to support great health or are trying to boost the immune system or fight something off, garlic is your friend!
There are many different ways to ingest garlic other than in your favorite meal.
- Garlic Cloves: Chopping it up and searing it in olive oil with sea salt and onions, or throwing a bunch of cloves in the crock pot with some black beans or in a homemade soup are all great ways to get garlic in your diet. You can also take the cloves and rub it on the bottom of the foot and then put on a pair of socks. This will allow it to get in the body via your skin.
- Garlic Oil: We just recently discovered garlic oil that you can ingest. Our oldest child had an allergic reaction to something. Once I added garlic oil to her supplements, I noticed a big difference. It tastes, well, like garlic! It is a quick and efficient way to get garlic into the body fast. Raw, pressed garlic oil!
- Garlic Ear Drops: Again, our oldest used to get ear infections a lot. Usually getting a chiropractic adjustment took care of it. However, there were times they were very intense. Since garlic is great at killing bacteria, I would put in a blend of garlic oil and other herbs such as Mullein flower oil, St. John’s wort oil, and others already made like this one, in her ear and that would kick it. Garlic is great for ear infections!
So take advantage of this wonderful, natural, God given food!

Hi January – love the post! It reminded me of when our first child was born and he had a little cold. I diligently put the garlic straight on the bottom of his tiny feet and it was so potent a blister formed!!!! Thereafter I decided to just rub the feet and put them in socks!
